Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation Singapore
Damien Hong is Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation Singapore (CRIS), where he is in charge of managing the information technology (IT) strategies and usability of computer systems for the CRIS group and its business units.
Prior to his position as CIO, Damien was Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI). As COO, he was responsible for managing operations strategy and policies, creating value through innovation and aligning employees with corporate goals. He also oversaw the implementation of the strategic direction of SCRI and was involved in day-to-day operations.
Damien spearheaded the IT infrastructure development which was a key enabler in the highly-publicised CHloroquine for Influenza prevention (CHIP) Trial. Published in Lancet, the Trial received international interest for being the first to utilise the internet to recruit over 1,000 patients efficiently and cost-effectively.
Damien also serves as Council Member at the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) Clinical Research Industry Skills and Training Council. In addition, he spearheads various initiatives in SingHealth, in areas including the clinical trial operations and coordination, data management and research technology.
